Art of the Hollywood Backdrop

My family and I went to see the movie backdrop exhibit a few days ago. This installation is the first museum show dedicated to Hollywood’s painted backdrops.

Having the opportunity to see actual backdrops from movies like “The sound of Music” was so cool.

I learned so much and I felt such a big connection to the movies when I rewatched them following my visit to the museum.

The permanent collection

For a relatively small museum this is an exciting collection in a marvelous airy space Specialties include European and American impressionism, African and Eastern sculpture, Glass and Contemporary fine art and sculpture.

Whenever there is a new exhibit I never hesitate to go now because it is always very clean, the staff is very friendly, and most importantly it’s a great price (even free with a student discount!)

They have a lovely gift shop and pleasant volunteers to assist and advise.

There is free parking in the Mizner garages.
